We appreciate the creative and artistic space you help us to create for voices that need to be heard.

We don’t go on and on about how Urban Spoken Word is the longest running, hottest urban open mic and slam series in the city with national features that frequently swing through. That’s not important. What is important–is that you hear good poetry and you enjoy yourself at the poetry set.

The Urban Spoken Word Poetry Collective is dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming space for people to share their words. We create an intimate space for local poets and national features alike. We have hosted workshops, fund raisers, and learning annexes in the past, and look forward to continuing this tradition and celebration of words.
